The idea was born from the firsthand experience of Dr. Zachary C. Vaninger, CPA, a corporate development executive and doctoral researcher who spent years leading M&A deals while studying how non-financial metrics impact valuation. His dissertation, which examined the value relevance of non-financial disclosures in digital companies, revealed a critical gap: unlike financial statements, NFMs are often unaudited, inconsistently reported, and vulnerable to manipulation.
That insight sparked the creation of NFM Verified — a firm designed to bring rigor, transparency, and standardization to an overlooked part of the diligence process.
